Sul club
Paphos Beach Club plays on three sand courts a few steps from the Municipal Beach. The club was started in 2016 by a handful of players who were tired of carrying their own net down to the shore every evening, and it has kept that spirit: the courts are open, the level is mixed, and nobody is turned away because they are new.
How the club works
Three sand courts, a container for the nets and balls, and a shower. That is the whole club. What we do with it is simple: the courts are open every evening from 18:00 and from 09:00 at the weekend, members play for free, and anybody can come once to see if they like it.
We are about ninety members, from people who touched a ball for the first time last spring to two pairs who play the national circuit. Nobody plays only with their own level: the Wednesday session mixes everyone on purpose, and it is the reason beginners stay.
The sand is deep, the wind comes from the sea after 17:00, and the court closest to the water is the one everybody fights for. Bring water, sunscreen and shoes you do not mind leaving in the car.
