Beach volleyball winter camps 2026-2027: where to train

When the northern hemisphere freezes, beach volleyball does not stop, it moves. From November to March a whole circuit of training camps runs where the sand stays warm: the Canary Islands, the Egyptian Red Sea, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, and Turkey once spring gets close. This page lists the sessions we found for the 2026-2027 winter, destination by destination.

We surveyed 27 camps covering around 50 sessions from 12 operators, on 25 August 2026. Dates, levels and included services come from the operators and from the calendars they publish. We deliberately do not list prices here: almost every camp sells a training only option and a full package with accommodation, both change through the season, so the operator's own page is the only reliable source.

Before you book. Beachmates is an adults only platform, 18 and over. The camps below are run by independent operators, and you book directly with them, not with us. Their own age rules apply, and most of them do not publish a minimum age. One camp states its rule explicitly, Volley4Fun in Tenerife, which admits under 18s accompanied by a parent or with written parental consent. If age matters to your group, ask the operator before paying.

Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain

Tenerife carries the biggest share of the winter calendar. Several operators run their weeks at the same site in Puerto de la Cruz, the Beachboard Hacienda, so the island offers a nearly continuous chain of camps from early November to early January.

Puerto de la Cruz, at the Beachboard Hacienda, in a flexible window from 19 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 with 5 day stays and flexible arrival dates. Level: intermediate and above, advanced or competition for men, intermediate, advanced or competition for women. Full package with accommodation and breakfast. Volley4Fun by Sport Spirit, Beach Volleyball Camp Tenerife. 3 to 9 January 2027, 7 days. Level: all, with 5 groups from beginner to performance. Training only, shared apartment or private apartment options, flights not included. This is the one camp with a published age rule: under 18s are admitted with a parent or written parental consent, and the operator gives an average participant age of around 30. volley4fun.com

Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain

Deep Dish Beach, Train Like A Pro 2027. Anfi del Mar, two weeks: 17 to 24 January and 24 to 31 January 2027, 8 days each. Level: advanced, for regular players with a solid technical base. Coaching in English, 8 sessions and 3 tournaments, accommodation optional, with the Marina Elite as official hotel. Group discounts from 8 participants. Sales opened in early August 2026 and some sources reported both weeks already full at the time of our survey, so check availability first. deepdishbeach.com

Lanzarote, Canary Islands, Spain

beachvolleycamps.ch and Hybrid Vacations, Lanzarote Beach Volleyball Camp. Puerto del Carmen, Playa Grande, three consecutive weeks: 30 January to 6 February, 6 to 13 February, and 13 to 20 February 2027, 8 days each. Level: mixed groups from B3 to A. Coaching in English, with Mark Garcia-Kidd, Martha Mullen, Issa Batrane, Dave Panah and Marco Bonaria. Nine sessions and 2 tournaments, training only or combined with the Moraña apartments. Soma Bay, Red Sea, Egypt

Egypt is the only destination with a continuous offer right through the winter, with a weekly rhythm rather than one off weeks.

Eighteen weekly sessions of 5 days, Monday to Friday: 16 to 20 November, 23 to 27 November, 30 November to 4 December, 7 to 11 December and 14 to 18 December 2026, then 4 to 8 January, 11 to 15 January, 18 to 22 January, 25 to 29 January, 1 to 5 February, 8 to 12 February, 15 to 19 February, 22 to 26 February, 1 to 5 March, 8 to 12 March, 15 to 19 March, 22 to 26 March and 29 March to 2 April 2027. Ahungalla, Sri Lanka

The only long haul destination with published dates this winter, and the one with the highest number of sessions per stay.

Level: all, with players split into level groups of 8 maximum and a cap of 40 participants. Coaching in German. The long format has 13 sessions of 105 minutes with day 6 free. Training is sold on its own, flights and accommodation are booked separately, and optional workshops and private coaching are available. Beach-Academy and beach-volleyball.de, Beach-Camp Side. Two sessions of 6 days: 21 to 26 March and 28 March to 2 April 2027. Coaching in German. The level is not published on the calendar. Indoor weekends in Germany and Switzerland

If you cannot travel, a second circuit runs in indoor sand halls across the winter. These are two day formats, without accommodation, useful for keeping your touch between trips.

How to choose your winter camp

Start with the level, not the destination. A camp built for advanced players will not slow down for you, and a camp that takes all levels will split you into a group anyway. Operators publish very different scales, from the Beachboard letters to the Swiss B3 to A grid to the German F1 and F2 groups. If you are unsure where you sit, describe your playing history to the operator and let them place you.

Compare training volume, not week length. Almost every camp lasts around 8 days, but the amount of sand time behind it goes from five sessions of an hour and a half to thirteen sessions of 105 minutes. Group size matters just as much: 6 to 8 players per court is the norm on these camps, and it changes how many touches you actually get.

Check what the booking includes. Two structures coexist everywhere: a training only option, and a full package with accommodation. Some camps go further and require you to book the hotel through their partner, which is the case at The Breakers in Soma Bay. Others sell training alone and leave flights and rooms entirely to you, like the Sri Lanka camps.

Look at the coaching language. Roughly half of this winter's offer is coached in German, the Canary Islands camps run mostly in English, and several operators do not state a language at all. Ask before booking if you need to understand tactical corrections in real time.

Think about timing. November and early December are the quiet, cheaper end of the season. Christmas and New Year weeks are sold as special formats and fill early. January and February are the peak on the Canary Islands, and by then the popular weeks may be full: Gran Canaria was already reported sold out for both January weeks at the end of August.

Verify before you pay. Several sessions in this list came from operator calendars or aggregators rather than a live booking page, and a few pages were incomplete when we checked. Treat this article as a map of the season, and the operator's site as the source of truth for dates, availability and conditions.

Use the indoor weekends as filler. If you cannot take a week off, the German and Swiss indoor camps keep your ball control alive between November and March for the cost of a weekend, and they are a good way to arrive at a spring camp already in touch.

After the camp, keep playing

A camp only works if you keep the habit when you come home.
