The match, rally by rally
What a coach gets
Read from the video itself, drawn on a court you take in at a glance, for the whole team or one player at a time.

The path of each player on the court, for the whole match or one rally at a time, with the ground covered in real metres.

One arrow per serve, from the server to where the ball was taken. Flight speed, serve type, aces and faults, player by player.

A dot where the ball was taken, an arrow for the run it forces on the setter. A good pass keeps that run short.

From where the ball was hit to where the opponent answered, with kills, digs, balls blocked and the height of the jump.

Each block joined to the attack it stopped, hitter to blocker, plus who blocked whom across the match.

Aces, kills, blocks, scoring runs and the longest rallies, each one a click from its clip, plus a written line for every rally.
How it works

One phone on a tripod behind the court, the whole court in frame, from the first serve to the last point. Nothing on the players, nothing on the net.

Name the four players, draw the court once, say who serves first and where the sides change. That is the whole setup.

You see an estimate while it runs and a match screen when it is done. Something looks wrong? Correct it and run it again with your corrections.
Set it behind the baseline, press record, and coach your match.
Three steps, and your next match comes back read.
Request beta accessAcross matches
Point a track at the right person once and every match that player appears in feeds the same sheet.

Serves, receptions, attacks, blocks and ground covered, added up across every match where you identified that player.

Every pair the analysis has seen, with what they win on reception, the ground they cover per match and the results you declared.

Where they serve, where they attack, what each of the two does, on one page you can print and take to the court.
One point per match, so you read the shape of a season and not just the last game.
The difference
The technology
Machine vision. One video, four players, one ball, read frame by frame and turned into metres.
Trained on dozens of hours of beach volleyball motion capture, the models read a serve, a set or a block the way a coach does. From a single phone video, they follow the four players and the ball through every frame. No sensors, no wristbands, no markers.

The four corners of the court give the geometry of the scene. From there the video stops being pixels: distances covered, the run forced on the setter and serve speeds all come out in real metres.

Serve, reception, set, attack, block: the models recognise the action, the player and the moment, and write the whole match out rally by rally, contact by contact.

Want something changed? Fix it in the annotation tool and re-run the analysis. The match is read again with your corrections in it.

Every analysed match keeps every rally, every contact and every position in real metres, ready to be read and added up player by player and pair by pair. And Beachmates runs on a court directory of 37,555 courts in 139 countries.
Questions
One file per match (H.264 or HEVC, up to 2 GB), filmed from a single fixed viewpoint behind the court, in landscape, with the whole court in frame. An ordinary phone recording is enough.
Behind the baseline, on a tripod, high enough for the whole court to stay in frame from the first serve to the last point. One fixed viewpoint, landscape, and you never touch it again.
Daylight or floodlights, both work. Keep the phone still and the whole court in frame: that is the whole requirement.
A full match. Once you launch it, the analysis usually takes fifteen to thirty minutes, and you see an estimate of the time left while it runs.
No. No markers, no sensors, no special bibs. Everything is read from the video.
You change it. The annotation tool lets you fix the action, the player and the moment, then you run the match again with your corrections in it.
Yes, as long as you have the video file and it was filmed from one fixed viewpoint behind the court. You upload the file itself.
No. Beachmates Vision is free while the beta lasts.
Beachmates Vision is available in eight languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Greek.
You do. Your videos, your player book and your analyses live in your account. They are not published, they do not appear on any public page and they are never shown to another coach.
No. Beachmates Vision reads beach volley, two against two, and nothing else. That is why it can name a reception, a set and a block instead of just tracking bodies.
Tell us who you coach and where. We open Vision to a small group of coaches at a time, and we answer every request.
